Revanth Reddy has become a vocal critic of the current Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his party. His elevation to the position of Telangana Congress chief in July 2021 marked a turning point, leading him to actively participate in street protests on various issues against the ruling BRS government.
A recent highlight in Reddy’s political rhetoric involved a sharp critique aimed at KCR’s son, KTR. Reddy asserted, “I am on merit quota. He is on management quota/NRI quota. Everyone knows KTR as KCR’s son. We have nothing to do with KTR. Our political fight is with KCR.”
Reflecting on his electoral history, Revanth Reddy, in the Legislative Assembly elections held in 2014, secured victory as the TDP candidate from the Kodangal seat, defeating Gurunath Reddy, the TRS candidate. This triumph not only showcased his political prowess but also led to his appointment as the leader of the House by the TDP. However, this association came to an end on August 25, 2017, when Reddy was reportedly dismissed from his post after it was revealed that he intended to join Congress. Eventually, on October 31, 2017, Revanth Reddy officially made the switch to the Congress party.
